Hosting

This website is hosted via GitHub Pages (Provider: GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When accessing the pages, connection data (e.g. IP address, date, time) are automatically processed as required for the technical operation of the service. Personal data may be transferred to the United States. Such transfers are carried out on the basis of standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission. The processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of the website).

Server Logs

When you access this website, your browser automatically transmits data to the server (e.g. IP address, date, time, and the requested page). These log files are used solely to ensure the operation and to analyze errors, and are automatically deleted after a short period. No evaluation for marketing or tracking purposes takes place.

Email Contact

If you contact me by email, the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content, as well as any documents and attachments submitted) will be processed for the purpose of handling your request and performing contractual services. The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures and contract performance) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the efficient handling of inquiries). Email communication is carried out via the services of IONOS. A data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider. The data will be used exclusively for processing your request and will not be shared with third parties without your consent. For the purposes of proper contract fulfillment, compliance with professional duties, and defense against potential liability claims, your source documents and translations will be stored securely for the statutory limitation period (3 years, calculated from the end of the calendar year) both digitally on encrypted servers in Germany and in physical backup form. Upon expiration of this period, they will be permanently deleted or destroyed.

Secure Document Transfer via IONOS HiDrive

For the secure transfer of documents, I offer password-protected upload and download links via the cloud storage service IONOS HiDrive upon request. The service is provided by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany.

These links allow you to submit documents for quotations and translation assignments or to download completed translations. During this process, the transmitted documents and technically necessary connection data are processed.

Data is processed for the purpose of handling translation enquiries and fulfilling translation assignments in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Files are stored on servers in Germany. IONOS acts as a data processor under Art. 28 GDPR.

Documents submitted solely for the purpose of obtaining a quotation are deleted once they are no longer required to process the enquiry and no translation assignment is commissioned.

For commissioned translation assignments, I retain the source documents and completed translations for three years from the end of the calendar year in which the assignment was completed. This serves to document my work and to establish, exercise or defend potential legal claims. Documents are archived both locally on a secured storage device and in IONOS HiDrive. The legal basis for this retention is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. After the retention period, the documents are deleted unless further statutory retention obligations apply.

Password-protected sharing links are deactivated when their validity period expires.

Content Delivery Network (CDN)

This website uses Tailwind CSS via a Content Delivery Network (CDN) operated by Cloudflare. When the pages are accessed, technical connection data (e.g. IP address, time of access) are transmitted to the provider’s servers. The use is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the fast and secure provision of the website).
